Does it hurt?
IPL pulses can feel like stinging, similar to the sensation of a hot, snapping rubber band against the skin. Blue Mussel Aesthetics offers topical numbing and/or Nitronox (laughing gas) as a pain relief option.
What is the downtime?
It is possible to experience redness and swelling after an IPL, this can vary from
24-72 hrs. Areas of pigment may turn a dark, coffee brown color, then slough off in 10 days to 2 weeks. You can apply makeup immediately after IPL procedure, if necessary.
