What is it?
At Blue Mussel Aesthetics, RF Microneedling is done with our Pixel8-RF. The RF abbreviation stands for Radio Frequency. This is a minimally invasive, bi-polar radio frequency system that disperses needles deep into the dermis to promote skin tightening and skin rejuvenation. It provides precise and controlled coagulation and hemostasis deep within the dermis to stimulate collagen. The Pixel8- RF improves tone and texture of skin, reduces wrinkles, pore size, and acne scarring.
Does it hurt?
Topical numbing is applied prior to treatment to help ensure minimal pain is felt during treatment. The client may feel a burning or itchy sensation during treatment, and a sensation of heat post-procedure. The sensation is similar to a mild sunburn.
What is the Downtime?
Minimal downtime is experienced after treatment. Clients often appear red with minor swelling in the 24-48 hours in the treated area. After the first 24 hours, clients are allowed to wear make-up if necessary with the recommended sunscreen. Clients should allow for an exercise FREE 72 hours. Treatment recommendations are for a series of 3 RF Microneedling sessions 4-6 weeks apart.
